Terms of Use

Effective date: May 20, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Lamp (the “App”) and related services provided by Simdan Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The Service

Lamp is a Bible study companion offering reading, search, highlights, notes, a journal, reading plans, quiet‑time flows, reminders, widgets, and optional AI‑assisted features. Features and content may evolve over time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher, to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.

Your Account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for any activity that takes place under your account. Keep your sign‑in credentials safe; notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use.

Subscriptions & Billing

• Plans. Lamp Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription at the prices shown in the App and on this site. Free features remain available without subscription.
• Auto‑renewal. Subscriptions auto‑renew at the price shown above unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Billing. Your Apple ID or Google Play account is charged at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal.
• Manage & cancel. Manage or cancel at any time in your App Store account settings (iOS) or Google Play subscriptions (Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their store policies. We are not able to process refunds directly.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices for future billing periods. You will be notified, and continued use after the change confirms acceptance.

On iOS, the App Store’s Standard EULA also applies to your subscription.

Acceptable Use

Please do not: reverse‑engineer the App; resell or sublicense access; scrape Bible translations or AI outputs in bulk; use the App to harass others; or attempt to circumvent security, rate limits, or licensing controls. We may suspend accounts that breach these limits.

AI Features

Pro includes AI‑assisted reference search, verse explanations, and plan generation. AI is a research tool, not a pastor or scholar: outputs can be incomplete, contextually off, or occasionally wrong. Always verify against the scripture text and trusted commentary before relying on an AI‑generated answer.

Content & Intellectual Property

• Scripture. Public‑domain translations such as the King James Version are reproduced under their respective public‑domain status. Licensed translations are used under permission from their copyright holders and remain the property of those holders.
• Your content. You own the notes, journal entries, and highlights you create. You grant us a limited license to store and sync that content solely to provide the service to you.
• Our content. The Lamp name, logo, design, and software are owned by Simdan Labs and protected by intellectual‑property laws.

Third‑Party Services

The App may rely on third‑party services for hosting, sync, analytics, push notifications, payment processing, and AI inference. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error‑free, secure, or that AI outputs will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simdan Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including lost data, lost notes, or lost revenue. Our total aggregate liability for any claim under these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US $50.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms. On termination, sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you within the App or by email. Your continued use after a change confirms acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
